These pillow protectors are so sturdy that they don't let air out. You lie down on it and your head is on air. I've had to open the zipper and press most of the air out and zip it back up quickly. They are not hot either. My head doesn't sweat when I sleep on it like the regular vinyl ones. I'm not sure they last a whole lot longer than the regular vinyl but I believe their much better if you have allergies

I think this pillow protector is great. I don't use it for allergies, but rather to protect my pillow from wet hair after showering at night. It keeps the pillow fresher and I don't find it noisy at all. If you keep it unzipped a bit, then the air can come out, and it's comfortable. Recommended!

Very good protection for pillows. But we didn't like the sound it makes when you are laying on it. If you put EXTRA pillow cases over it helps.
